SHAYNA GOLDBERG IS TAKING ON the position of artistic managing director of the Chutzpah! Festival and the Norman & Annette Rothstein Theatre.

The change means she is leaving her role as artistic planning and operations manager of Music on Main, which she has held since 2018. Some of her achievements there include working on The Tempest Project, the company’s largest production to date, and more recently, helping introduce the BIG BANG Festival to Vancouver audiences.

David Pay, artistic director of Music on Main, noted in the announcement today that Goldberg “has been an essential colleague, and friend, through all of the ups and downs, challenges and victories that Music on Main has had since her arrival.”

Before joining the Music on Main team seven years ago, Goldberg held roles as both general manager and managing director of Pi Theatre. She has worked with such companies as the Greater Vancouver Professional Theatre Alliance, Fugue Theatre, and the Classical Theatre Project in Toronto, where she grew up.

Goldberg has a master’s degree in business administration and a diploma in arts and media management from York University. Her volunteer experience includes serving as treasurer on the Jessie Richardson Award Society’s board of directors, and on the volunteer and social action committee of the Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver.

The role of artistic managing director of the Chutzpah! Festival and the Norman & Annette Rothstein Theatre was held by Jessica Mann Gutteridge from 2020 to 2025. Gutteridge recently stepped into a new position as managing director of The Improv Centre.
