Indie-folk duos hit the Main Stage at this year's Vancouver Folk Music Festival, July 18 to 20
Offerings range from the intimate acoustic sound of Victoria’s Ocie Elliott to the acclaimed North Carolina pair Watchhouse

Ocie Elliott.
At this year’s Vancouver Folk Music Festival, two talented indie-folk duos are among the artists headlining the evening Main Stage: Ocie Elliott on July 19 and Watchhouse on July 20.
Jon Middleton and Sierra Lundy are the Victoria-based duo Ocie Elliott. Known for their intimate acoustic sound and heartfelt songwriting, the pair create music that explores themes of love, longing, and human connection. Their songs have been featured in several popular television series, including Grey’s Anatomy, Batwoman, and Sweet Magnolias.
In 2022, Ocie Elliott received a Juno Award nomination for Breakthrough Artist of the Year. With a sound that feels both timeless and refreshingly honest, the pair continues to carve out a unique space in modern folk music.

Watchhouse.
Watchhouse, the acclaimed duo of Andrew Marlin and Emily Frantz, began their journey over a decade ago playing in coffee shops and restaurants across North Carolina. Since then, Watchhouse has grown into a grassroots phenomenon, selling out iconic venues like Red Rocks and the Ryman Auditorium and amassing hundreds of millions of streams.
Watchhouse are on tour this summer supporting their new album Rituals. The duo crafts songs that are both personal and expansive, touching on life’s big questions with subtlety and grace.
Several other talented artists will perform on the evening Main Stage. Catch another indie-folk duo—The Milk Carton Kids—on July 20, New York City–based singer-songwriter Margaret Glaspy on July 18, and more.
Weekend passes and tickets are available now. Scoop them up and learn more at VFMF.
